Proceedings 2006 Pre-Course
ASIA 2006 ANNUAL MEETING PRECOURSE CONTENT AVAILABLE ONLINE
The 2006 pre-course to the annual scientific meeting of ASIA, entitled "State of the Art in Spinal Cord Injury Measurement and Outcomes" was an innovative and comprehensive program partnered by a grant from the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR). International experts in the field addressed the subject from multiple perspectives in an initial effort to establish the current position of measurement and outcomes in SCI. This effort will be followed up with a second pre-course, to the 2007 annual scientific meeting of ASIA. That program will be offered on Wednesday, May 30, 2007, at the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay in Tampa, Florida. Consult the ASIA web site for details on registration for the pre-course, as well as the annual scientific meeting.
As part of its commitment to disseminate the information from the 2006 pre-course, ASIA will offer manuscripts from the proceedings in two forms: first on its web-site, where they will be posted as they are completed, and second in the “Journal of Spinal Cord Medicine” where they will appear as they are completed by their authors. The first of these manuscripts is posted now, and it is anticipated that all manuscripts will be on the ASIA web site by 4/1/07. They will appear in the journal periodically during this calendar year, as space allows in individual issues.
We hope that you will enjoy having this complimentary access to the manuscripts, and will find them useful. This was a landmark conference, and we are grateful to the speakers for all of the work that is represented by their participation in the conference, and their completion of the manuscripts of the proceedings.
Marcalee Sipski Alexander, M.D.
President, ASIA
