Opportunities
Founded in 1973, the American Spinal Injury Association will soon celebrate its 40th Anniversary of service to professionals in the field of spinal injury medicine. A dynamic professional organization comprised of over 500 physicians, psychologists, researchers, nurses, therapists, case managers, and administrators, ASIA is involved in advocacy, research, primary prevention, and care delivery for individuals with spinal cord injury and disease.
Plans are underway to kick-off the year long festivities with the 2012 Annual Scientific Meeting in Denver (April 18-21). What will follow is a series of anniversary projects and initiatives led by various ASIA Committees (Education, Journal, Membership, Pediatrics, Prevention, Program, Standards, and others), culminating in the gala 40th Anniversary Scientific Meeting in Chicago in 2013 (May 5-8).
One critical component to the success of this significant event in ASIA history is the participation of ASIA Partners. The Partners Program was launched five years ago, and has flourished since then as corporations, foundations, and others have embraced the mission of ASIA to establish standards of excellence, educate, foster research, and facilitate communication. ASIA has many landmark programs including the eLearning Center, a free curriculum in neurological and autonomic classification of individuals with spinal cord injury. ASIA has relied on its Partners to insure the success of its educational, research, and organizational programs.
The 40th Anniversary year brings with it unique opportunities and benefits for all ASIA Partners. Each will be identified as a 40th Anniversary Partner, and will be acknowledged continuously throughout ASIA’s special year in a myriad of ways. Below is a link to a form with details on each level of Partnership. Review the details, determine the level of support you wish to give, and return your commitment form to the ASIA office.
